BLUES TO TAKE ON HURRICANES IN U20 BRONZE MATCH
The Blues will meet the Hurricanes in the bronze medal match of the Super Rugby U20 competition in Taupo.
The Blues U20 combination had another high-scoring thriller, edged out by the Crusaders 45-43 in their semifinal at Owen Delaney Park.
It was a game of attacking flare resulting in 13 tries scored, with the Crusaders looking to have the match under control midway through the second half when they led 45-29, mostly through their driving forward play.
But the Blues scored two outstanding late tries to close the gap, until they were beaten by the clock in tremendous match.
They got to within two points after a superb try by NZ Schools player Cohen Norrie following a splendid break by Luke Aitken and strong support play starting from deep in their own territory.
However time ran out for the Blues, losing by just two points.
The Chiefs won through to the final with a 48-38 win over the Hurricanes in the other semifinal.
