BLUES YOUTH LEADERSHIP PROGRAMME
‘O le ala i le pule o le tautua’
The pathway to leadership is through service
PURPOSE:
To empower our rangatahi (young people) to make good choices for great lives.
WHO ARE WE?
We believe that the purpose of the Blues is bigger than the game of rugby.
The concept of the Blues Charitable Trust was pioneered by leaders within the Blues who wanted to build something that makes a positive difference to future generations and cultivate a genuine connection with our community while growing and developing our people.
We wanted to utilise the strengths of our club to develop a higher purpose and meaning beyond the game and become fundamental to the DNA of the Blues.
We want to focus on youth who are at a crossroads in life and have been identified by their schools as emerging leaders with great potential. We will provide ‘Leadership Coaching’ to build confidence, self-awareness, and courage to reach their full unique potential.
THE PROGRAMME:
Workshop 1. Leading Self & the Power of Belonging:
Workshop 2. Great Leadership & Overcoming Challenges
Workshop 3. Leading Career Pathways & Leadership & Wellbeing
Workshop 4. Leading Others, High Performing Teams & Servant Leadership
Our programme content is evidence based, culturally responsive, and carefully planned.
Students have a unique and valuable opportunity to hear from leaders across the Blues organisation including players, staff, alumni and external experts.
We facilitate engaging activities, mini-team work, brainstorming, videos, and Q & A panels
