Sylvia played in the inaugural Blues Super Rugby game in 2021 putting her name on the map as a 17-year-old star, scoring a superb try in match.

She earned her first Black Ferns cap in 2022 and went on to be selected for the Black Ferns Rugby World Cup squad where she was nominated for World Rugby ‘Try of the Year’.

Brunt didn’t rest on her laurels in 2023, she stamped her mark on the Aupiki competition for the nib Blues with her deft attacking ability and bruising defence on show once again. She also solidified herself as the starting Black Ferns no. 12.

Sylvia continued to perform at a world-class level in the 2024 edition of Sky Super Rugby Aupiki and has added layers to her game including a silky short kicking game to keep defences in the midfield guessing.

Unfortunately, due to suspension, Brunt was unable to play in the 2024 Aupiki final but certainly helped off the field with her international experience and game knowledge invaluable.

She enters the 2025 season full of confidence, with an all-round game that continues to evolve. Fans will be eager to see what Sylvia Brunt has in store for them in Sky Super Rugby Aupiki.
