Sophie Fisher, also known as ‘Red,’ is a multi-skilled prop who’s been around the nib blues for several season. She has the ability to slot a conversion from 50+ metres and isn’t shy to step up to the kicking tee when required.   

Sophie was a late call-up to the nib Blues Aupiki squad in 2022, joining the team in their bubble down in Taupo.   

After a strong season for the Auckland Storm in 2022, Sophie impressed in the 2023 edition of Sky Super Rugby Aupiki, showcasing both her scrummaging ability and deft ball playing ability.  

2023 continued to be a watershed year for Fisher when she was called into the Black Ferns squad, making her debut in the inaugural WXV competition.  

Despite starting the 2024 Aupiki campaign with plenty of promise, Sophie was unfortunately struck down with a neck injury which effectively ended her season mid-way through.  

A reliable and hard working team mate, Fisher returns after neck surgery for the 2025 season hungry to get stuck back into her rugby and ready to push her case for international honurs once again.
