Meihana Grindlay is a Taranaki native who attended school at King's College in Ōtāhuhu. He has been part of the Blues development programme, representing the club in both Under-18 and Under-20 teams.  

Grindlay had an impressive 2023 where he was part of the championship winning Taranaki Bunnings NPC team starting 11 of the 12 games alongside fellow Blues squad members - Stephen Perofeta and Ricky Riccitelli. 

He was elevated to his first full Blues squad in 2024, making his debut against the Highlanders at Eden Park in Round 13.  

In a congested mid-field, game time was limited in 2024 but he’ll be hoping to continue his development and push for further minutes in 2025.  

Meihana is contracted with the Blues through until the end of the 2025 season.
