WE’RE HEADING HOME TO EDEN PARK FOR CLASH WITH CHIEFS

The Blues are coming home to rugby’s spiritual home of Eden Park next week.

After a month in a bubble in Queenstown, the Blues are set to take on neighbours the Chiefs at Eden Park next Saturday, 5 March in the third round of the DHL Super Rugby Pacific competition.

The team, who play their first game of the competition against the Hurricanes in Dunedin on Saturday night, are delighted to know they are heading home.

The immediate focus is on a strong performance against the Canes, after their opening round match against Moana Pasifika was postponed when the competition newcomers developed covid in their squad.

At this stage the Blues plan is to begin their training week in Queenstown before flying home later in the week for the game which is set for a 4.35pm kickoff, and aired live on Sky Sport.

Of course, the competition remains firmly under Covid red light protocols which means unfortunately public are unable to attend.

Blues officials said they were thrilled to host the Blues players and staff back in Blues HQ, although they will again institute strict protocols both at work and home, to lessen any risk of Covid infiltrating the squad.
