A product of Sant Kentigern College in Auckland, prop Ben Ake is familiar to the Blues set-up having joined the squad as injury cover for Jordan Lay in the 2024 season. 

He was involved at age-grade level with the Blues Under-18 and Under-20 development programmes and was also a member of the 2023 New Zealand Under-20s.  

Ben joins the Blues in 2025 on his first full contract and will be looking to learn from the experienced group of props currently in the squad. 

Ben is contracted with the Blues through until the end of the 2027 season.
