A highly respected and experienced member of the New Zealand rugby family, Nonu is renowned as one of the best All Black midfielders ever. He is a centurion for the All Blacks and the Hurricanes.

Ma’a Nonu debuted for the Hurricanes in 2003, playing for the Wellington-based side until 2011 when he spent brief periods with the Blues and the Highlanders intermittently. In 2012 and 2014, Nonu brought a real physicality to the Blues backline with his strong and direct running game, while also presenting one of the best passing and short kicking games in the All Blacks squad, helping them to consecutive Rugby World Cup titles.

Ma’a returned for his third stint with the Blues, after four years in France. He added his experience and impressive repertoire of skills to a young and talented Blues backline for the 2019 season, with many considering a fairytale return to the All Blacks a possibility. It was not to be, however his successful return to New Zealand rugby further cemented his legendary status among the rugby community.
