Local primary and intermediate school students joined us at the Blues High Performance Centre last Wednesday for our annual Nestle Choose Wellness Milo Skills and Drills Day.

Hundreds of kids from Royal Oak Intermediate, Christ the King School, Owairaka Primary, and Good Shepherd Primary joined 27 Blues players for a skills and drills session organised by Blues sponsor Nestle.

Nestle Choose Wellness campaign manager Amanda McDermott commented: “Encouraging children to be active and eat well is a major focus of our philosophy in giving back to our communities.”

The event included a lesson from a nutritionist on the food groups as well as portion control, before splitting the kids into groups to rotate between a range of skills and drills, and game stations run by our players.

“The messages promoted by Nestle align nicely with the values and messages the Blues like to share with youngsters,” said Karen Parlane, Blues Sponsorship Manager.

The kids didn’t go home empty handed, either. At the end of the day, everyone received a Blues goody bag and a sample of Milo.

As you can tell from the pics above, a really great day was had by all.
