Blues in the ‘burbs is back and better than ever in 2017, offering fans a chance to meet and mingle with their favourite players.
That’s right. Every week during the month of March, the team will be hitting local rugby clubs across Auckland to sign autographs, pose for selfies, and run rugby skills and drills sessions with the kids.
Brought to you by Barfoot & Thompson, this will be the second year of Blues in the ‘burbs after the massive success of the family-friendly event last year.
This time the players will be visiting the Auckland University Rugby Club on 7 March, Papatoetoe Rugby Club on 13 March, Waitakere Rugby Club on 21 March, and Takapuna Rugby Club on 28 March, with a rain day scheduled for 4 April in case of bad weather.
Barfoot & Thompson managing director Peter Thompson commented: “We’re looking forward to joining the Blues and giving back a little to the four corners of Auckland that raised our players.
“Whether it’s James Parsons from Takapuna RFC or Charlie Faumuina from Papatoetoe RFC, our players are big on remembering their roots and staying connected to local clubs.”
Every Blues in the ‘burbs event starts at 6pm and ends at 7:30pm, so bring the family and a picnic dinner, and we’ll see you in your neighbourhood soon.
Check out our Summer of Rugby calendar for more details, including the addresses of the above rugby clubs.
