Lucky Luatua suspended but will miss no game time

Blues loose forward Steven Luatua has been suspended for three weeks following a dangerous tackle in Saturday’s 34-41 loss to the Chiefs, but he will not miss any Super Rugby.
The 21-year-old was given a yellow and white card for a tackle on his former New Zealand Under-20 teammate and new All Black Brodie Retallick which resulted in his upper body coming into contact with the ground while his legs were still in the air.
Luatua entered an early guilty plea, reducing his sentence from six to three weeks which is effective immediately and goes through until June 23.
The suspension will have little impact on Luatua’s involvement with the Blues as there is a three week break for the June Test Internationals, meaning Luatua will be available for the Blues’ next match against the Force on July 7.
