The Blues franchise is currently seeking a Head Strength and Conditioning Coach.
The appointee will be suitably qualified as a Strength and Conditioning Coach with professional rugby experience or a minimum of three years experience in an elite sporting environment.
The appointee will be responsible for creating and overseeing individual and team S&C programmes, rehab/prehab patterns and recovery strategies to ensure players are in the best possible condition to perform at their highest level for the Blues.
Skills and experience required are:
A relevant qualification in Sports Science
Practical experience as a S&C Coach in a professional rugby or elite sporting environment (minimum three years)
Ability to create and implement rugby training programmes and player development strategies for players at Super Rugby and international level
Experience in rugby injury and rehabilitation management
Beyond discipline-specific expertise and experience, candidates should have a good knowledge and understanding of the game as well as outstanding organisational, communication and interpersonal skills.
The successful candidate for this position must also have the ability and willingness to travel nationally and internationally with the team. †Therefore, applicants must maintain a current passport and be eligible to travel overseas and back to New Zealand (including maintaining eligibility to obtain any necessary visas).
