Foundation sponsor remains committed

Barfoot & Thompson, foundation sponsors of the Blues since their inception 26 years ago, will continue to have their backs.

The Blues long-time partners have renewed support as a back-of-jersey sponsor for the next three years.

The company is the largest privately owned real estate company in New Zealand, with 75 branches throughout the Blues region where they have operated since 1923. Barfoot & Thompson sell one in every three properties sold in Auckland.

Barfoot & Thompson Managing Director, Peter Thompson, one of three current directors who are grandchildren of the founders, believes backing the Blues reflects their company philosophy.

“We are Auckland’s largest real estate company and for us it us all about giving back to the region,” said Thompson, a director of Auckland Rugby.  “Our whole focus is family. We are a company which fully supports sport and we want to see people active and out and about.”

Like any strong relationship that has stood the test of time, both Barfoot & Thompson and the Blues see genuine benefit from the partnership.

“From the championships wins, through leaner times and now in this exciting new era, Peter and his team at Barfoot & Thompson have offered unwavering support and loyalty,” said Blues CEO, Andrew Hore.

“They help us on a day-to-day basis in housing our players. They help to excite and entertain our fans and are fervent supporters in the Blues region.

“This is more than a commercial arrangement. Peter and his team are very much part of our team – passionate and steadfast. Everyone at the Blues respects and is heartened by their wonderful loyalty.”

Barfoot & Thompson will continue to be back-of-the- jersey sponsors and will again host their “Check-in and Win” promotion, giving fans who attend Blues games at Eden Park the chance to win signed jerseys, tickets and money-can’t-buy experiences.

Barfoot & Thompson are joined by seven other sponsors who have also renewed their sponsorships for 2021 and beyond, comprising Go Media, QMS Media, NZ Couriers, Sub60, OPZRO, Royal Wolf and Altura Coffee.
