BACK TO HOME BASE

The Blues are pleased to be back home to family, back to home base and back to work as the move to Level 2 means we can focus on our first home game in Sky Super Rugby Aotearoa against the Highlanders.

The Blues have confirmed that the Sky Super Rugby Aotearoa game will be at Eden Park on Sunday under Level 2 or Level 1 with the team determined to defend the Gordon Hunter Memorial Trophy.

With the Government announcing that based on the current situation remaining on track, that Auckland will follow the rest of the country back to level 1 this weekend, the Blues will market the game to the public on a contingency basis.

The Blues are keen to celebrate with fans for every home game at Eden Park this season that kids go free with a paying GA ticket.

“The team are determined that lockdown won’t knock us down, so bring your blue, bring the noise, bring your mates, bring your A game to Eden Park this weekend and stand next to our men against the Highlanders,” said Blues CEO, Andrew Hore.

Should Auckland remain in Level 2, then there will be a plan in place to roll out the game under Level 2 protocols with “no crowds” but pods of 100 to cater for as many sponsors and members as possible.

Note that contact tracing will be required regardless of Covid Alert Levels.
