BEST & FAIREST (Selected by Mediaworks)
5 Points: George Moala
Barnstorming effort from the big midfielder who made so many metres every time he touched the ball and was rewarded with the game-winning try.

3 Points: Steven Luatua
Captain was so influential, making some telling tackles and turnovers, running hard and invaluable at line out time. His injury late in the game will be a significant loss for the Blues if he is sidelined.
1 Point: Ihaia West
Change of tactics in the second half which West mastered, kicking deftly, pushing the Blues on to attack, distributing well and perfect goal kicking display. His season’s best for the Blues.

WHAT THE COACH HAD TO SAY:
That was an outstanding effort from the team. The defence was stout throughout. We paid for our ill-discipline in the first half, but in the second half we kicked for territory, put them under pressure and took our chances. A lot of our young players got their chance and stood up.
Head Coach Sir John Kirwan

WHAT THE PLAYERS HAD TO SAY:
We talked this week about the need to be strong and physical in defence. The Bulls are a really tough team and they took it to us but the team really stood up. I was happy to take my chance and score the try for the team. The boys are happy.
George Moala
