Ticket sales to the first All Black test against the Irish in the Steinlager Series at Eden Park have just hit the 40,000 mark.
The first international rugby match of 2012 kicks off at Eden Park this Saturday night, with the last time the All Blacks played here being the memorable Rugby World Cup final.
“There’s a lot about this match to excite rugby patrons,” says Grant McKenzie, Auckland Rugby Marketing Manager.
“Irish fans will well remember the carnival-like atmosphere when Ireland defeated Australia during last year’s World Cup and will be looking forward to returning to Eden Park.
That coupled with some exciting new faces as well as old favourites in the All Black squad, means this Test match will give All Black followers their first look at Steve Hansen’s men against an Irish side that has once before proved popular with local fans.”
With a stadium capacity of just over 46,000, there are still tickets available in various areas of the ground with prices beginning at $70/adult and $25/children. To purchase tickets go to www.ticketmaster.co.nz or phone 0800 111 999.
Pre-purchased match tickets or Eden Park memberships double as free transport passes on selected trains and buses to the match. Go to www.maxx.co.nz for travel details or www.edenpark.co.nz for stadium information.
Remember to get the ground early and give yourself plenty of time to find your seat and get settled for the pre-match entertainment prior to kick-off.
